Sam Andreae
Sam Andrea is a saxophonist and composer working in the fields of improvised and experimental music. After graduating from the RNCM in Manchester in 2008 I became an active member of the local jazz and experimental music scene, I helped found Efpi Records, the long running jazz/experimental series Freedom Principle and Learn Live, a series focused on opening up conversations between improvising musicians and audiences.
After returning from studying on the Nordic Jazz Masters in Scandinavia in 2013 I continued to explore improvised music as part of the active DIY and experimental music scene in Manchester. This included a residency with Kelly Jayne Jones and Pascal Nichols at Borealis Festival in Norway, releasing my debut solo CD on Manchester label Tombed Visions, participating on the Take Five development scheme run by by concert producer Serious and in 2014 being invited with David Birchall to be resident artist on the ACE funded Noise Above Noise program at The Penthouse.
