Composition with Indian music : 09th May (Sat) and 14th May (Thurs)
AMEWorkshop is a new sound and music workshop encouraging new people to compose. Professional composers and musicians will run projects with ame @ Dai Hall sharing their skills and ideas. The first of the series invites the local female composer and musician Supriya Nagarajan.
This workshop will explore a number of Indian scales and rhythms and explore the creation of a musical story using phrases, syllables and patterns. Suitable for anyone with an interest in Indian music, world music, diverse traditions and in general making music in an interesting and fun manner. Participants are requested to attend only one day. Both days participation is available. Limited to 12 places, so please book early. No experience necessary.

19 November 2018. Picture Bruce Rollinson the founding member and CEO of Manasamitra an UK based arts organisation is a Bombay born Indian, who studied Carnatic Vocal music from the age of five. Her passionate love of music drove her to achieve great things and the desire to help people from all backgrounds to find that passion within themselves. Supriya’s work intersects with scientific enquiry at various levels and has worked across the world and is currently developing a brand new work “The Sound of Tea” exploring the sensory nature of tea.
