Dai 大 Hall (The Piazza, Unit 29/30, Victoria Lane, Huddersfield HD1 2QF)
A free participatory installation by Tom Hawkins will run at Dai Hall between 14.30 and 17.00, including a workshop at 3.30 on interpreting graphic scores.
The installation will consist of a variety of graphic and text scores, set up to enable everybody to participate in experimental music. Participants may move onto a different score whenever they wish. There will be instruments provided, however people are welcome to bring their own instruments.
This will be followed by a concert by Edges Ensemble from 17.30.
Tom Hawkins is a final year composition student at the University of Huddersfield. He plays cello and clarinet, and loves free improvisation.
The Edges Ensemble is a student-led group of experimental composers and musicians at Huddersfield University.
