residencies

We believe that running residencies is one of the best strategies we have to both support international, national, and local artists to develop, and engage our audience and community in Huddersfield with new works.

We run several types of residencies to support artists with different goals and at different stages in their career.

major residencies

International and/or long term funded residencies.

amexperimental attic

amexperimental attic is a casual rolling opportunity open to anyone.

Between funded projects we give over use of our venue and equipment to artists for a period of 1 – 3 weeks, to develop work. We will work with you to provide support and mentorship from ame’s core team.

There is no expectation of an outcome but amexperimental attic residencies often result in a concert or exhibition at Dai Hall or elsewhere.

piano residencies

The “Beckstein” is a Bechstein Grand Piano made in 1884 in Berlin. For 37 years it lived in the home of the improviser Mick Beck in Sheffield.

Following a downsize to his home, Beck offered the piano to ame.

After a successful fundraiser for moving and upkeep, the Beckstein was relocated to Dai Hall, where it is now available for residencies and concerts.
