29th May to the 1st of June
The collaborative duo of Cooper (Todmorden, UK) and Dora (Clermont-Ferrand, FR) is now entering its 9th year and for one week at the end of May 2023 they will be in residence at Hudderfield’s ame project space.
The plan for the week is for the duo to produce and record some new and weird improvisations, primarily for trombone, piano, electronics and wordless voices. In previous years and residency settings, Cooper and Dora have taken inspiration from the site they found themselves in which has sonically seeped into the results. At ame they are likely to take advantage of the huge ex-shop space and town centre location in ways they aren’t sure about yet.
There will be a public performance of the work produced during the residency on the evening of the 1st June where they will be joined by Gayle Brogan aka Pefkin to perform slowly unfolding, ritualistic hymnals that draw heavily on the landscape and natural world.
