Chris Ruffoni is an artist based in Marsden. His practice incorporates sound, sculpture, mechanics and musical instrument design to create works for installation. Chris is inspired by connecting with nature whilst walking in the moors near his home, and manifests in work that is aleatoric and organic, patterned but chaotic, responsive but uncontrollable.

The residency/open studio is part of the development of a new installation made in collaboration with Nick Cohen and John Robertson Dwyer.  A light sensitive analogue circuit has been designed by Chris and Nick, which responds to changing light levels to trigger acoustic sounds via mechanics. Chris welcomes you to join him at any time throughout the residency whilst he plays with light and materials.  This project is supported by Arts Council England via the DYCP fund.
