JC Leisure

JC Leisure (b 1986) is a sound artist, based in Liverpool since 2014. He has released work on Warm Winters ltd, Not Not Fun and his new record A Courtyard! shall be released this April on Cameron Stallones SUN ARK imprint. His practice focuses on how elements of performance; artist, audience and space can be broken down through ideas of play – the potential of a space to be folded back on itself. He recently toured the extra-musical performance Complex Adaptive Sitcom with longtime collaborator Joseph Summers, a midi-responsive performance built within the framework of a situation comedy. He runs the broadcast space and slow label House of Saturn. The Wire has described him as a “keen medium channeling impossible plots and creating improbable music.”

Kepla

Jon Davies (b. 1988) is a musician based in Liverpool, born in Hong Kong and raised in Croydon, producing work under the name of Kepla. Since 2016 he has produced a number of records, including collaborative records with DeForrest Brown, Jr. (Speaker Music), and experimental writer Nathan Jones. His last full length was a debut solo record titled Within The Gaze, A Shadhavar released by Alien Jams in 2019, described “as a thoroughly idiosyncratic journey into the depths of an alien psyche.”

His compositional techniques are based on field recording and collaging, granular resampling and generative composition, and most recently he has incorporated improvisations on acoustic instruments and synthesis.
